Nepeta followed his father, his tiny, skinny body struggling to keep moving after the larger wolf. "Not long now and we will *COUGH* *COUGH* be there, to safety. I promise Kitty, we will be there soon. The pack... will *COUGH* help us." He said miserably. Nepeta knew what was happening. His daddy was sick. He knew that. And he knew he'd probably die. And Nepeta was scared. He didn't know what to do. They walked among the trees and the snow, Nepeta shivering and whimpering. "Its ok Neppy." His father said again. Nepeta kept walking. Suddenly, his father fell. Nepeta squealed in dismay, running to the male wolf, nudging his muzzle. "Dada? DA DA! DA DA NO!" He cried, tears pooling and falling from his eyes. Not again. He didn't want his father to die. He loved his father a lot, and he couldn't lose his father like he lost his mama. "DADA GET UP! DADA! DADA! DADA NOOOO! *hic* NO! *sniffle* DADA! SOMEONE HELP! NO NO NO! DADA! DADA NO PLEASE! I LOVE YOU DADA! PLEASE DADA!" He cried, pushing his paws on his chest over and over again in vain. His fathers head was bleeding, a rock had broken his already brittle and old and weak from disease and starvation skull. He was dead. The little pup instantly starting howling and crying his sadness and dismay, begging his father to get up.

The massive male strode through the forest, he had nothing better to do and a stroll sounded appealing to him, so he went on a walk. Fun. Sighing he looked around for something to do, anything really. Just to get rid of the feeling of boredom. Nobody likes to be bored with nothing better to do, very unappealing to Quinton. He isn't a wolf to sit on his rump all day sleeping and eating then some more sleeping only to eat again. What a boring life style! Grumbling under his breath he stopped and looked around to find a hare not to far from him. It was just casually looking at him, like he wasn't a lumbering giant who could end its life in the blink of an eye. This, however, didn't mind Quinton for he only started right back into its beady black pits called eyes.
A piercing howl erupted out of no where, spooking the hare and Quinton. Alarmed at the sudden howl the dark grey male sprinted to the distressed creature. His lumbering body made no effort in to keep his paws quite, what's the point? It only takes more effort. The sound of crying reached Quins perked receptors, pushing his body to run fast he shortly came to a trot. The view before him was devestating. It only broke the males heart to see a weeping pup by the dead carcass of the wolf, pity filled his normally joyous green eyes. It was always sad to witness the death of any wolf let alone other animals. Soft pants came from Quintons parted jaws, trying to regain control over his breathing. Finally, once he did he slowly approached the pup. Blood pooled around the dead wolfs head and out of its mouth. Both canines were thin with their ribs poking out, almost a walking bag of bones. The stench of blood filled Quin's sensitive nostrils causing the brute to scrunch his face up in disgust. His odd green hazel flecked eyes bore into the back of the white ish grey pup, he was large but he looked young, he almost reminded him of himself only he wasn't so young to lose a parent until later. Clearing his throat the grey masculine spoke to gain the pups attention, "know he's at peace... watching over you at this very moment." He spoke sadly but loud enough for the pup to hear. He sat down not to far from the grieving son, close enough to comfort the young male but far away enough to give him space. His green gaze gazed softly at the light white grey male.

Nepeta continued crying, his ears folding down on his head, tears falling almost as fast the blood pouring from his father. All he had wanted was to get his son to the pack to make sure his son lived, he had given all of his food to Nep, and always took breaks when the young pup had asked. Now Nepeta regretted every single break. Maybe if he hadn't taken those breaks they would have been ok and had gotten to the pack. To, in his father's eyes, salvation. Poor Nep started to think it was all his fault. His face buried into the now slowly becoming cold fur of his father, looking almost dead himself. "Know he's at peace... watching over you at this very moment." Said a voice behind him.

Nepeta quickly turned to look at the giant wolf that know lumbered nearby. His mismatched eyes watched the other male, and still tears fell at a rapid pace. After a few second he concluded that the wolf was of no threat, and turned back to his father, again burying his face in the fur. "Why? Why did my Dada leave me... why... *Sob* Why... Dada why... Please don't let him leave!" Nep said, turning to Quinton. He ran over to him, almost head butting him. "Sir please save my Dada! *Hic* Y-youre part of the pack he talked about right? Please, save my Daddy! Please help him! I can't lose him sir! Please! Save my Daddy!" He cried, pawing at the male. The pup knew in the back of his mind it was of no use, that his daddy wasn't coming back, but he refused to believe it. He kept crying, his whole, skinny body shaking with his sobs as he looked up at Quinton. The rumbling of thunder could be heard nearby, but Nepeta ignored it.

The pup whirled around, facing the dark grey male. The pups words only made the male flinch, he knew what it was like to lose a parent only he lost his in a different way. He lost his mother to her insanity, she was crazed and violent. Sadly it was Quinton who put her down, killing her with a swift snap in the neck but she left behind a nasty scar hidden beneath his thick hide. "It was his time to go, he brought you to salvation like I'm sure he wanted to. I cannot bring him back, I am no god, just merely a living soul who endures pain like yourself. Fear not we can give him a buriuel near my packs den." Quinton let out a heavy sigh. He didn't mean to be blunt but how else could he explain it? He didn't suger coat things, never had and never will.
Quintons emerald eyes looked down to the youngster who head butted his leg. Quin simply ignored the pups pleas. "I cannot do anything. If I could I would have already. I know how it feels to lose a family and it leaves a hole in your heart but you'll learn to cope and fill that hole with someone else but they will never be replaced. He never left you, he's still here only you cannot see him with the naked eye." The sound of thunder clashed in the sky. He had a nasty feeling that something was going to happen, turn for the worst. "Come, we must hurry. We will talk about this once we reach the safety of the den!" The large male abruptly sat up and picked the pup up by its scruff and pointing him in the direction of the den. He was antsy and he did not want to get caught up in the storm that was brewing. If they did the pup would surly die and Quinton felt that he was now responsible for the pups health. Nudging the pup he went to the carcass of the dead male. Lifting him up he positioned him onto his back and walked off, picking up the pup he trotted as fast as his legs could carry him.

(Excuse me sir, that is a great post and I've been freaking out because I'm used to posting shorter things)
Nepeta simply went limp. "It was his time to go, he brought you to salvation like I'm sure he wanted to. I cannot bring him back, I am no god, just merely a living soul who endures pain like yourself. Fear not we can give him a buriuel near my packs den." That only confirmed his thoughts. His father was gone. Dead. And he knew it. He fell down, sobbing and crying and wishing he was dead too. "I cannot do anything. If I could I would have already. I know how it feels to lose a family and it leaves a hole in your heart but you'll learn to cope and fill that hole with someone else but they will never be replaced. He never left you, he's still here only you cannot see him with the naked eye." Nepeta had already started to become numb. He couldn't really feel anything besides pain. He hoped that his father had actually never left him, and that his spirit was here but... Nep found it hard to believe. Another clash of thunder, but the pup didn't even move. "Come, we must hurry. We will talk about this once we reach the safety of the den!" Nep simply let the male carry him. His eyes became dull, his ear still pulled against his head. He curled up into carrying position so he'd be easier to carry, but he still cried and sobbed, but slowly the noises became quieter and quieter until the pup was completely silent. He simply froze.

(Sorry that I didn't post yesterday! And thank you kind sir for the complement.)

Quinton scurried as fast as he could with a dead wolf on his back and a pup in shock in his mouth. Could things possibly get worse? To answer that, yes. Snow lightly started to fall but as time drowned out the snow came down harder and faster. Soon enough Quin himself was covered in snow. It didn't take long for the storm to come, catching the large male in the middle of it. It was starting to get hard to walk with knee deep snow. Each step was a mystery. Slipping in falling as he walked on, plowing the snow out of the way. His green eyes glanced down his nose to see if the pup was alright. He tried his best to block most of the storm, staying in the shelter of the trees as the storm ragged on. The wind howled, blowing the snow and constantly switching direction. This disoritanted Quinton causing him to stumble and take wrong turns. The normal calm demeanor the brute held was long gone. His body shook and shivered with small tremors. He was panicking. He feared the pup in his grip would freeze to death. He didn't want that because then the pups father would have died in vain and Quinton wanted to have the honor of keeping his child alive. The pup hardly lived! Quinton wanted to make sure the male could grow old and find happiness that was a far fetched dream of his. Constant pants came from Quinton, vapor entering the freezing atmosphere from his labored breaths. His body ached and was growing weary. What a great day!
A whine escaped through his mouth, wishing to find his way. Luck seemed to blow his way for he could see the den not to far off. A growl of joy vibrated his vocal cords as new found strength pulsed through his body. Bunching his muscles he bounded as fast as he could to the den.

Nepeta, the tiny pup, simply stayed still. He hardly felt the cold, even though his body surely did, and his eyes were closed to block the snow. He started to shiver uncontrollably, his body curled up in a tiny, tiny ball. He whimpered once or twice, who knows, as he continued to think. It was his fault. His daddy had died because of him. He had wanted those breaks. If they'd been faster, if he hadn't stopped so much, maybe they would have reached the pack in time, maybe his daddy would have lived, and they'd be happy together. But now, there was no chance of that. His dada was gone. Just like his mama. He was alone. Or at least, he felt all alone. Like a lost leaf blowing helplessly in the wind, never to find its parent tree again. The pup stayed curled up in a ball until the den was finally in sight. It was then that his muscles gave in, no longer able to stay tense and keep Neppy in a ball. He went limp, tears still flowing from his eyes, even though now they were frozen to his fur. Everything went limp on Nepeta, even his jaws, as the exhausted pup just let go. He didn't care anymore. Sure, he may not die right now, but he didn't care if he did or didn't. He just went limp in the jaws of Quinton, still mourning his father.
